The Judgment

The Six Lines
First line
There is sincerity in the heart, but it has not been held to the end, so things sway between confusion and gathering, uncertain. If you will call out, one clasp of the hand and you are laughing together again; no need to worry, and to go forward brings no blame. This line is about the wavering of early gathering: when trust between you is not yet firm, do not stew in silent rivalry; reach out first and talk it through, and the bond gathers again.
Second line
Drawn along by the call, brought over in good faith — this is fortunate and without blame; as long as the heart is true, even a modest offering suffices. This line is about gathering by sincerity: the coming together of people need not be bought with lavish gifts. Do not underrate the weight of a true heart; unadorned sincerity draws the right people to your side better than any display.
Third line
Longing to join the group yet sighing again and again, unable for now to find your place, it seems to bring no gain. Yet if you step forward and try to draw near, there is still no blame, at most a little awkwardness. This line is about the loss of being kept outside the circle. When you cannot fit in, do not rush to wound yourself; set pride aside and take one step closer — a little awkwardness buys the chance to be received again.
Fourth line
Winning hearts widely, you bring about a great gathering — great good fortune, and no blame. This line is about the fullness of gathering well achieved, resting on setting private aims aside and truly considering everyone. To draw different people into one is a rare gift, but this achievement is not yours alone; share the credit with all, and the gathering stays steady and lasts.
Fifth line
You gather people by the position you rightly hold — no blame; but if some are not yet sincerely with you, it takes long, upright virtue to win them slowly, and remorse fades in the end. This line is about a leader's patience: rank alone is not enough. Winning people rests on an integrity proven over time; do not demand that all approve of you at once — stand firm, and time will gather hearts for you.
Top line
At the very end of gathering, you feel alone, and cannot help lamenting and weeping; yet this state carries no blame. This line is about the feeling of longing to belong while kept, for now, on the outside. Your sorrow is real and can be understood. Rather than swallowing it alone, show it honestly; when you are willing to be vulnerable and to ask to draw near, you often open the door to being received again.
