Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) — Method

The sidereal charts for Vedic (Jyotish) astrology are computed in-house on astronomy-engine (MIT, listed above): the nine grahas’ geocentric longitudes come from the same astronomy engine, then converted with classical, public formulas — a linear approximation of the Lahiri ayanamsa, mean lunar-node polynomials for Rahu/Ketu, and a 365.25-day solar year for the Vimshottari dasha. We deliberately avoid AGPL- or commercially-licensed ephemerides such as Swiss Ephemeris, pyswisseph, and PyJHora, computing everything from classical public-domain formulas instead; the 12 Rasi and 27 Nakshatra names use traditional, publicly-known translations. These values are approximate and intended for self-reflection only.

Supplementary Systems (Nine Star Ki, One-Palm Classic, Sukuyo) — Method

The Nine Star Ki and One-Palm Classic sections on the BaZi panel, and the Sukuyo section on the Vedic panel, are computed by in-house engines from classical, public methods: Nine Star Ki uses the Lichun year boundary and solar-term months with the traditional attribution table; the One-Palm Classic derives its four palaces with the classical counting method (lunar-calendar conversion via lunar-typescript, MIT, listed above); Sukuyo maps the Vedic Moon nakshatra to the traditional 27 lunar mansions and their seven-luminary attributions (real-position school). These are classical, publicly-documented methods — methods, facts, and names as such are not protected by copyright; all trait copy on this site is written in-house and does not quote copyrighted source texts.

Divination Methods (Plum Blossom, Liu Yao, Runes, Lenormand)

The divination methods are in-house engines: Plum Blossom numerology follows the classical time-based casting and ti-yong analysis from the Meihua Yishu (Ming-era text, public domain); Liu Yao follows the standard najia attribution of the Bushi Zhengzong (shi-ying positions, six kinships, six beasts, and xunkong empty branches, all classical rules); Runes use the 24 Elder Futhark staves (2nd–8th century script) with glosses grounded in Dickins’s 1915 public-domain translation of the rune poems; Lenormand uses the 36 traditional card meanings from the 1846 Philippe Lenormand sheet (public domain). These methods and names are classical public knowledge; all meaning copy on this site is written in-house and does not quote modern copyrighted textbooks.

Horary Astrology — Method

The horary astrology feature is an in-house engine. Its judgment framework follows William Lilly’s Christian Astrology, 1647/1659 editions (public domain) — essential-dignity scoring, the considerations before judgment (early/late Ascendant, Saturn in the 7th house, Via Combusta, void-of-course Moon), significators, and translation/collection of light all follow this classical system; terms use the classical Egyptian table, faces the Chaldean order, and triplicities Lilly’s day/night rulers, all public-domain classical tables. Planetary positions, the Ascendant, and Placidus houses are computed with astronomy-engine (MIT, listed above). All tendency copy on this site is written in-house, deliberately reframing the classical yes/no judgment as factors and tendencies, and does not quote modern copyrighted horary textbooks.

PREAMBLE

The goals of the Open Font License (OFL) are to stimulate worldwide development of collaborative font projects, to support the font creation efforts of academic and linguistic communities, and to provide a free and open framework in which fonts may be shared and improved in partnership with others.

The OFL allows the licensed fonts to be used, studied, modified and redistributed freely as long as they are not sold by themselves. The fonts, including any derivative works, can be bundled, embedded, redistributed and/or sold with any software provided that any reserved names are not used by derivative works. The fonts and derivatives, however, cannot be released under any other type of license. The requirement for fonts to remain under this license does not apply to any document created using the fonts or their derivatives.

DEFINITIONS

"Font Software" refers to the set of files released by the Copyright Holder(s) under this license and clearly marked as such. This may include source files, build scripts and documentation.

"Reserved Font Name" refers to any names specified as such after the copyright statement(s).
